FSSAI – A STEP TOWARDS FOOD SAFETY

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is an organization of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. It is in charge of ensuring and advancing general wellbeing through the regulation and supervision of nourishment safety. The FSSAI has been made under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 that is a combining statute identified with sustenance security and regulation in India.

FSSAI lays down strict rules for Food Licensing & Registration In India.  The guidelines for product approval are quite stringent. The labeling requirements of FSSAI have been becoming tougher. It’s not been too long when FSSAI blocked a consignment of syrups meant for a well-known coffee brand, Starbucks. Consignments worth many crores were held up at port due to failure in meeting labeling requirements on imported food.

FSSAI compliance has become mandatory for everyone in food business. Due to the strict licensing requirements by FSSAI, every food chain requires a FSSAI Consultant In India. These consultants help businesses with FSSAI registration and licensing more efficiently. The consultants, to free the clients from all hassles, handle all the legal procedure of registration.

No matter how many agencies take up the mission of safe food but the first step towards food safety is personal hygiene. However, FSSAI has taken the first step but there is still a long way to go.
